Jammu, Oct 2: Former Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, along with nine members of Shri Shri Radha Govind Dham Gaushala, Shakti Nagar, addressed a press conference on Wednesday, terming recent FIRs against them as “completely false and baseless.”
The members present included Nitai Dass Ji, Rajeev Sambyal, Varinder Dogra, Manju Verma, Rajinder Abrol, Sanjay Kumar, Surinder Choudhary, Deepak Singh Raina, Madalsa Devi Ji, and Vijayata Dass Ji. They alleged that Rohit Bali is the “real culprit,” citing multiple criminal cases pending against him.
Gupta informed that an FIR had already been registered against Bali in 2023 under IPC Section 295 for allegedly insulting a place of worship and attempting to damage Gaushala and temple property. Another FIR, dating back to 2019, was registered under sections 452, 354, 323, 506, and 294 IPC in connection with alleged incidents of sexual harassment and assault.
The Gaushala members also accused Bali of cruelty towards cattle at the Gaushala, claiming, “We even have CCTV footage of him beating cows,” adding that FIRs regarding these incidents had already been lodged.
Rejecting allegations against themselves, the members invited the media to verify the condition of the Gaushala, stating, “You can count every cow; all are safe and present here. The false allegations of missing cattle are only an attempt to malign us.”
The Gaushala members further accused Rohit Bali of financial irregularities, claiming that he had misappropriated nearly ₹10 lakh in government subsidies. They insisted that the funds meant for the welfare of the Gaushala were misused by him.
The press conference highlighted the ongoing dispute between the Gaushala management and Rohit Bali, with Gupta and other members asserting that the charges against them were part of a deliberate attempt to defame them.
