323 Houses Damaged in Mahore; 88 Families Shifted to Safer Locations Amid Heavy Rains

Reasi, Sept 5: In the wake of continuous heavy rainfall over the past few days, as many as 323 houses have been fully or partially damaged in Mahore Sub Division of Reasi district, according to Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahore, Shafqat Majeed Bhat.

Speaking to Excelsior, Bhat said that 88 families have so far been shifted to safer locations as a precautionary measure. Of these, 59 families from Jamslan and 29 from Sarh have been relocated to Panchayat Ghars and other designated shelters.

The administration has made comprehensive arrangements for those displaced, including medical care, food supplies, and other essential items, the SDM added.

Efforts are ongoing to assess further damages and extend necessary support to all affected households across the region.
