Jammu, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his admiration for the armed forces’ sacrifices in safeguarding the nation, assuring veterans of his government’s full support in addressing their concerns. He emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between the government and the forces.
Speaking at a function organized by the Army at the Tanda Artillery Brigade in the Akhnoor sector to mark the ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day, Abdullah stated, “You are the ones who are ready to sacrifice your lives for the unity and integrity of the country.”
He stressed that it is now the government’s responsibility to ensure veterans do not face any hardship, stating, “We are grateful for what you did for the nation, and it is our duty to help you in return.” Abdullah also assured veterans of his government’s commitment to implementing recruitment reservations and providing financial support through various government schemes.
The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to serving veterans, adding, “We will carry out our duty to the fullest.”
