Army Foils Major Infiltration Attempt Along Poonch LoC, Two Terrorists are Believed to be Killed in Gunfight
Jammu, Jan 30: Army troops on Thursday successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of heavily-armed terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, alert Army personnel observed the movement of about four terrorists trying to sneak across the LoC in the Khari Karmara area. The troops immediately challenged the infiltrators, resulting in a fierce gunfight.
The sources further revealed that at least two terrorists were hit by bullets during the exchange of fire. Two bodies have also been spotted in the forward area, indicating that two terrorists are believed to have been killed. However, forces have yet to retrieve the bodies for confirmation.
Reinforcements have been deployed to the area, where thick foliage is complicating search operations. A detailed search is currently underway, and further updates are awaited.
