Three Hardcore Criminals/OGWs Detained Under Public Safety Act 1978

Kathua, January 31: In a significant move to curb illegal activities in the district, Jammu & Kashmir Police, under the supervision of SSP Kathua Shobhit Saksena IPS, apprehended three hardcore criminals/OGWs. These individuals, who have been involved in various unlawful activities over the years, were booked under the Public Safety Act 1978 (PSA).

On the evening of January 31, police teams from PS Billawar and PP Ramkot, led by SHO PS Billawar and IC PP Ramkot, conducted a successful operation, capturing the accused in their respective areas. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  1. Mohd Rafiq, son of Kalu Khan, a resident of Ghar Malti
  2. Ravinder Kumar @ Shanu, son of Sudesh Kumar, from Dadwara
  3. Amrik Chand @ Amrku, son of Kalu Ram, a resident of Dharamkot, Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua

These individuals have been at the center of several criminal activities in the region, with multiple FIRs lodged against them at PS Billawar. To prevent further disruptions, dossiers were prepared and submitted to the District Magistrate Kathua for their detention under the PSA. Following a thorough review, the District Magistrate issued detention orders under the Public Safety Act.

Today, the detention warrants were executed, and the accused have been transferred to District Jails in Jammu, Rajouri, and Udhampur, respectively, in a bid to curtail their illegal activities and restore peace in the area.
