Udhampur, Aug 7: A tragic accident involving a CRPF vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district claimed the lives of two personnel and left at least 16 others injured on Wednesday. The vehicle, carrying jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force, rolled down a steep gorge in the Lodhra area of Basantgarh.
According to a senior police officer, the incident occurred when the vehicle reportedly skidded off the road under uncertain circumstances. Rescue teams were rushed to the site, and the injured personnel were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility. Several of them are reported to be in critical condition.
District and police authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and more details are awaited as the rescue and investigation continue.
