New Delhi, Sep 8:
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday launched search operations at 22 locations across five Indian states and Jammu and Kashmir in connection with an ongoing terror conspiracy investigation, officials confirmed.
Raids Across Multiple States
According to NIA officials, the raids are being conducted at:
-
9 locations in Jammu and Kashmir
-
8 locations in Bihar
-
2 in Uttar Pradesh
-
1 each in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu
In Jammu and Kashmir, the targeted districts include Baramulla, Kulgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama—areas known for heightened militant activity in recent years.
Part of a Larger Probe
The raids are part of a wider probe into a terror conspiracy case, though specific details about the suspects or organisations involved have not yet been disclosed.
“Searches are ongoing. Further details will be shared once available,” an NIA official said.
The NIA has intensified its counter-terror operations in recent months, focusing on cross-border terror links, sleeper cells, and radicalisation networks.
More information is expected as the raids progress.
