Srinagar, Sep 8:
An unidentified terrorist was killed and a soldier injured during an encounter in the Gudar forest area of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
The operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Gunfight Follows Search Operation
Security forces including the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF jointly began a cordon and search operation in the Guddar forest.
“Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity. Upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange,” said the Army’s Chinar Corps in a post on X.

The operation is still underway, with security forces maintaining a tight perimeter.
