DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat IPS Inaugurates 3-Day Mega Exhibition on New Criminal Laws at Jammu
Jammu, Sept 22: Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat IPS today inaugurated a three-day mega exhibition on the new criminal laws at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The event has been organized by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Crime Branch Jammu under the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
DGP Nalin Prabhat was the chief guest on the occasion, while ADGP Armed J&K Anand Jain IPS, IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti IPS, IGP Crime J&K Sujit Kumar Singh IPS, DIG DKR Range Shridar Patil IPS, DIG JSK Range Shiv Kumar IPS, DIG RP Range Tejinder Singh IPS, DIG Traffic Jammu Dr. Haseeb Mughal IPS, DIG Personnel J&K Mubassir Latifi IPS, Sessions Judge (Retd.) Subhash Gupta, and Director FSL Gurmukh Singh were the special guests of honour. The event was also attended by District SSPs, staff officers, senior prosecution officers, SDPOs, and other gazetted officers.
In his address, the DGP highlighted that J&K Police has been implementing the new criminal laws on ground with dedication and ensuring timely investigations. Appreciating the Crime Branch for organising the exhibition, he said such initiatives will be taken to every district so that the public is well-informed about the new laws. “The aim of this mega exhibition is to spread awareness among people about the new criminal laws,” he added.
The exhibition, being held for the first time in Jammu, witnessed an overwhelming response on its opening day, with a large number of students, scholars, and citizens visiting to gain insights into the new legal framework. The event will continue till September 24, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. SSP Benam Tosh, the nodal officer of the exhibition, invited the public to actively participate and benefit from the information being shared.
Various stalls have been set up by District Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Police Control Room (PCR), Women Police Station, Cyber Police Stations, Prosecution, ANTF, CICE, Special Crime Wing (SCW), Economic Offences Wing (EOW), J&K Health Department, and other units. These stalls showcase the implementation and relevance of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
