Samba/Jammu, Sept 28: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday morning launched a search operation after movement of a suspected Pakistani drone was reported along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The drone was reportedly seen hovering over Karalian village in Ramgarh sector around 6:30 am before vanishing from sight, officials said.
Soon after, BSF troops initiated a search in the village and adjoining areas to rule out any airdropping of weapons or narcotics from across the border. The operation was still underway when last reports were received.
Drone sightings from across the border have been a recurring security concern for forces in the Jammu region, with several incidents in the past linked to weapon and drug smuggling attempts.
