Two Terrorists Killed Along LoC in Kupwara After Troops Foil Infiltration Bid

Kupwara, Oct 15: Two terrorists were killed after security forces opened fire following suspicious movement along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday morning, officials said.

A senior official told Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that the exchange of fire erupted when troops deployed near the border fence detected movement during the early hours.

“The terrorists were engaged in firing, and both were neutralized in the exchange,” the official said, adding that the alertness of the troops prevented a possible infiltration attempt from across the border.

Following the encounter, a large-scale search operation has been launched in the area to ensure that no other infiltrators are hiding in the nearby forested belt.

The incident comes amid heightened security along the LoC as forces maintain strict vigil to counter any cross-border infiltration attempts ahead of the winter season.
