Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour reaches Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 12: The Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 Trophy reached Jammu today amid a wave of excitement and pride, marking a momentous day for sports enthusiasts across the region.

The iconic trophy was unveiled at the K.K. Hakku Stadium, where aspiring athletes, school students, and hockey lovers gathered in large numbers to celebrate India’s glorious sporting legacy. The venue reverberated with cheers as the gleaming trophy took center stage, symbolizing the spirit of determination and national pride that defines Indian hockey.

Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Yasha Mudgal, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, officials from Hockey India Federation, J&K Hockey Association, and a large number of players and spectators were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Yasha Mudgal said, “The arrival of the Junior World Cup Trophy in Jammu is a proud moment for every sports lover of this region. Hockey stands as a symbol of India’s unity and resilience. Through this event, we hope to inspire our youth to embrace the sport with renewed passion. The J&K Government is fully committed to extending every possible support for the promotion of hockey and other sporting disciplines.”

In her remarks, Nuzhat Gul highlighted the department’s focus on strengthening sports infrastructure and professional coaching across J&K. “The Trophy Tour is not just a celebration of hockey’s rich heritage but also a call to our youth to pursue sporting excellence through discipline and hard work,” she said.

The Trophy Tour, set to travel through 20 states across India, aims to celebrate the upcoming FIH Junior Men’s World Cup 2025, promote hockey participation nationwide, and rekindle the sporting passion of the younger generation.

The dazzling trophy procession began from Hotel Radisson, passing through Jammu University Road before culminating at K.K. Hakku Stadium, where a charged crowd welcomed it with waving flags and chants of encouragement.

The event turned into a vibrant celebration of India’s national sport — a day that not only honoured the country’s hockey heritage but also reignited Jammu’s collective dream of nurturing the champions of tomorrow.
