After Priya Gold, Sale of CREMICA Digestive Biscuits Prohibited

ANANTNAG, Jan 6: In another significant move aimed at safeguarding public health, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Anantnag has prohibited the sale of CREMICA Digestive biscuits, Lot No. BD10K25, with immediate effect.

The order has been issued in the interest of public health and food safety, directing all traders, wholesalers and retailers to immediately stop the sale and distribution of the specified batch. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those found violating the prohibition order.

Notably, Anantnag authorities had earlier banned a batch of Priya Gold Butter Byte biscuits after laboratory testing revealed increased levels of sulphite beyond permissible limits. The back-to-back actions underline the administration’s heightened vigilance against substandard and potentially unsafe food products in the market.

FDA officials said enforcement teams will continue market inspections to ensure strict compliance, reiterating that consumer safety remains a top priority and such measures will be pursued wherever violations of food safety norms are detected.
