Two Pakistani Nationals Held Within 24 Hours After Escape from Juvenile Home in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 17: Two Pakistani nationals who escaped from a juvenile home in a border village of Jammu district were arrested within 24 hours of the incident, officials said on Tuesday.

However, a local gangster who fled along with them remains at large, and efforts are underway to secure his arrest.

The accused — Karajeet Singh alias Gugga, a resident of Dablehar in R S Pura, and Pakistani nationals Mohammad Suna-ullah and Ahsan Anwar — allegedly attacked police personnel before escaping from the juvenile home at around 5 pm on Monday. Two police personnel sustained injuries in the incident.

Officials said special police teams were constituted immediately after the escape, and a manhunt was launched to trace the trio.

The two Pakistani nationals were tracked to a village in Punjab’s Ludhiana district by a police party and were subsequently arrested. Further investigation is underway, while search operations continue to nab the absconding gangster.
