Ramban Police Recover 20 Smartphones Worth ₹5 Lakhs, Refund ₹6 Lakhs in Financial Fraud Cases

Ramban, December 30, 2024: In a commendable effort to address public grievances, the Ramban Police Cyber Cell successfully traced and recovered 20 missing mobile phones valued at approximately ₹5 lakhs. Additionally, the Cyber Cell resolved several cases of financial fraud, recovering and refunding nearly ₹6 lakhs to victims of online scams.

In a formal event at the District Police Office, SSP Ramban, Shri Kulbir Singh (JKPS), handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Singh emphasized the critical need for individuals to safeguard their mobile devices, given the sensitive personal data they often contain. He also highlighted the potential risks of misuse in cases of loss or theft.

Elated recipients expressed their gratitude to the Ramban Police for their dedicated efforts in recovering their lost devices. The initiative reflects the police’s commitment to serving the public and ensuring justice in cases of cybercrime and financial fraud.

SSP Ramban reiterated the importance of public vigilance in safeguarding personal devices and responding promptly in cases of cybercrime. He urged citizens to report incidents to the National Helpline (1930) or lodge complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in. For lost or stolen mobile devices, reports can be filed at www.ceir.gov.in.

The Ramban Police continue their relentless efforts to tackle cybercrime and enhance public safety in the region.
