J&K Police Attach Property of Pakistan-Based Terror Handler in Tral

In a significant crackdown on terror infrastructure, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a prime immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler. The property, identified as a four-marla plot of land situated in Syedabad Pastuna, Tral, is valued at several lakhs and is registered under the name of Mubashir Ahmad, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of the same locality.

The action was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which empowers authorities to seize or attach properties linked to terrorism. According to a police spokesperson, the move came after an intensive investigation conducted by the Awantipora police.

Key Findings of the Investigation
The probe revealed that Mubashir Ahmad, now operating from Pakistan, has been actively involved in reviving terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Ahmad is accused of facilitating the smuggling of arms and ammunition across the Line of Control (LoC) with the intention of strengthening local terror networks in the region. His efforts are seen as part of a broader strategy by cross-border handlers to destabilize peace in the Valley by recruiting and arming local militants.

Police Action and Impact
The attached property was identified as a crucial asset linked to Ahmad’s activities. By targeting his financial and physical assets, the authorities aim to dismantle the infrastructure that supports terrorism. “This operation reflects our steadfast commitment to combating terrorism and eradicating the resources that sustain it,” said the police spokesperson.

The action not only disrupts the support systems of terror handlers but also sends a strong message to individuals aiding such activities, whether directly or indirectly. Officials emphasized that this measure is part of a comprehensive strategy to curtail cross-border terrorism and the revival of militant activities in the region.

A Broader Message
This operation is seen as a reaffirmation of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s resolve to combat terrorism and secure the region. The attachment of properties belonging to terror operatives serves as a warning against any attempts to aid or abet anti-national activities.

The authorities remain committed to intensifying their efforts to identify and act against such individuals and their networks, ensuring that the Valley moves closer to long-term peace and stability.
