Jammu, January 13, 2025: In preparation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations and a VVIP visit, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, conducted a comprehensive late-night review of the security and border management systems in Samba and Kathua districts on the night of January 12-13, 2025. He was accompanied by senior officers including Shiv Kumar, IPS, DIG JSK Range; Shobit Saxena, IPS, SSP Kathua; Virender Manhas, SSP Samba; and other security personnel.
During the review, ADGP Jain emphasized the critical need for peace and security in the region, particularly as the Republic Day celebrations and VVIP visit approach. He urged officers to remain vigilant and proactive, ensuring that the events are conducted in a peaceful, fair, and secure manner. Highlighting the importance of robust coordination between various security agencies, he stressed the need for preparedness to address any challenges that might arise during this period.
The ADGP also reviewed the deployment plans and instructed the mobilization of additional forces in sensitive areas to prevent potential threats. He underlined the significance of intelligence gathering and the timely sharing of information to mitigate any security risks. During his inspection, he checked the performance of the officers on duty and boosted their morale, emphasizing their key role in maintaining security.
Furthermore, the review covered the law and order situation, with a focus on manpower, logistics, and resources. ADGP Jain directed officers to enhance security patrols and checks, especially in border areas like Sherpur Nala, Babbar Nala, Mawa, and Nandpur. He also reviewed joint security operations between the BSF and Border Police, urging officers to strengthen these measures.
Anand Jain also highlighted the importance of community engagement and building trust between the police and the public to ensure smooth law enforcement, especially in critical situations. He called for cooperation from local communities to maintain peace.
The review concluded with a discussion on the security arrangements for the VVIP visit and Republic Day celebrations, ensuring all measures are in place to guarantee safety and security. DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar, briefed ADGP Jain on the current security scenario and the steps being taken to maintain law and order in the region.
