Advocate Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson of BJP J&K and former Deputy Mayor, has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in driving infrastructure development in Jammu & Kashmir. She highlighted that the recently proposed Paddar-Zanskar strategic road reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to national security, tourism, and regional prosperity.
In a press statement issued today, Advocate Sharma remarked, “The Paddar-Zanskar road will serve as a crucial all-weather link between Jammu and Ladakh, enhancing the mobility of our armed forces along the China and Pakistan borders. This project underscores the proactive approach of the Modi government in addressing the nation’s strategic needs, while simultaneously fostering local economies and boosting tourism.”
Sharma also criticized the prolonged neglect under successive National Conference (NC) and Congress-led regimes, which she claimed deprived the people of Jammu & Kashmir of their due development and opportunities for over six decades. “For decades, J&K suffered from a lack of vision and progress under the NC-Congress governments. It is only under PM Modi’s leadership that the region is experiencing a new era of development, empowerment, and hope,” she stated.
She further emphasized the transformative potential of the Paddar-Zanskar road, which she believes will dramatically reduce travel time and enhance connectivity for remote areas. The Minister of Road Transport and Highways’ meticulous planning for the project highlights the government’s dedication to providing world-class infrastructure.
“PM Modi’s vision to connect even the most remote parts of the country with robust infrastructure is becoming a reality,” she added. Sharma noted that this project aligns with the broader objective of turning Jammu & Kashmir into a vibrant hub for economic and cultural activities.
In addition, Sharma lauded other initiatives under the Modi government, including the Zojila Tunnel and upgrades to the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, which ensure year-round connectivity between Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
She urged the public to recognize the transformative efforts of PM Modi’s government in shaping Jammu & Kashmir into a beacon of development and security. “With projects like the Paddar-Zanskar road, the aspirations of our people are being realized, paving the way for a brighter future,” she concluded.
