Amit Shah to Chair High-Level Meeting on J&K Security in Delhi on Thursday

SRINAGAR, Oct 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level meeting in New Delhi on Thursday to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the meeting will focus on enhancing coordination and synergy among security agencies and assessing the ongoing counter-terror operations across the Union Territory.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, along with top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Intelligence Bureau, Army, CRPF, BSF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police, is expected to attend the crucial meeting.

Ahead of the review, senior J&K officials, including the Chief Secretary and other top officers, reached Delhi this evening to participate in the discussions.

Sources said the Home Minister is likely to take stock of the overall security scenario, particularly in light of recent terror incidents, infiltration attempts, and emerging threats in border areas. The focus will also be on strengthening inter-agency collaboration to ensure peace and stability across Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting comes amid sustained security operations in parts of the Pir Panjal and south Kashmir regions, as the Centre continues its efforts to consolidate peace and curb cross-border terrorism in the Union Territory.
