Tarun Chugh on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader
Sonia Gandhi, condemning her alleged remark referring to President
Droupadi Murmu as a “poor lady.”
Chugh said the comment reflected the Congress party’s “dynastic
arrogance” and its “deep-seated disdain” for India’s institutions.
“Sonia Gandhi’s shameful remark calling Hon’ble President Smt.
Droupadi Murmu Ji a ‘poor lady’ exposes the Congress’s elitist mindset
and its disregard for constitutional values,” he said.
Terming it an insult not just to the office of the President but to
the nation as a whole, Chugh accused the Gandhi family of looking at
India through a “colonial and foreign lens.”
“The Gandhis—Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka—are entitled dynasts who have
never believed in India’s democratic spirit. Their contempt for a
tribal woman as President reeks of a colonial mindset. Utterly
disgraceful!” he added.
