Ceasefire Takes Hold After Fierce Overnight Strikes; IDF Warns of Continued High Alert

Tel Aviv, June 24: A ceasefire came into effect this morning following directives from Israel’s political leadership, marking a temporary pause in Operation Rising Lion. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that all military objectives defined for the operation have been fully achieved.

In a stern message following the truce, the Chief of the General Staff directed all IDF units to remain on high alert and maintain operational readiness across all fronts and borders. “We are prepared to respond with full force to any violation of the ceasefire,” the military leadership warned, underlining that operational pressure will not be relaxed.

In the final hours before the ceasefire was enacted, the Israeli Air Force unleashed a wave of precision strikes across Tehran, targeting dozens of military installations and deploying over 100 munitions. Among the targets struck was the SPND headquarters—believed to be central to the Iranian regime’s weapons development programs. The IDF confirmed that critical components of Tehran’s military manufacturing infrastructure suffered “repeated and severe damage.”

Israeli intelligence also detected preparations for a missile barrage from western Iran early this morning. Eight launchers, reportedly primed for immediate firing, were destroyed in a swift preemptive strike.

Despite Israeli efforts to neutralize threats, approximately twenty missiles were fired from Iran before the ceasefire took hold. Most were intercepted, but some impacted civilian areas. In Be’er Sheva, casualties were reported, with rescue teams recovering several survivors from the rubble. The IDF Home Front Command continues to provide emergency aid at the impact sites, while search and rescue efforts remain active.

“The IDF mourns the lives lost,” the statement read. “We stand with the bereaved families and pray for the recovery of the injured.”

Officials emphasized that despite the ceasefire, the threat to civilians remains. No changes have been made to the Home Front Command’s directives, and the public has been urged to continue following safety instructions.

“The IDF remains vigilant. We are closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to act without hesitation,” said the military spokesperson.
