KATHUA, Feb 1: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo visited the Industrial Estates in Kathua, including Ghatti and Bhagthali, to assess the infrastructure, interact with industrialists, and address sectoral challenges.
During his visit, Dulloo inspected key manufacturing units, including Devyani Food Industries Pvt. Ltd., an ice cream production facility, and Varun Beverages Ltd. at Ghatti. He also toured Kandhari Global Beverages Pvt. Ltd. in Bhagthali, where officials briefed him on the plant’s operations and concerns.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Secretary underscored the Jammu and Kashmir Industrial Policy’s role in fostering business expansion. He highlighted that the policy aligns with the ₹28,400 crore industrial package from the Union government, designed to attract investments, generate employment, and strengthen the local economy.
Dulloo reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting industries through incentives, modern infrastructure, and single-window clearances. He also stressed the importance of sustainable industrial practices, urging companies to adhere to environmental laws and integrate eco-friendly measures into their operations. He assured that the administration would extend all necessary support to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Later, the Chief Secretary chaired a review meeting with industrialists from Ghatti, Kathua, and Bhagthali at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The meeting focused on the existing infrastructure, pending issues, and priority interventions needed to facilitate industrial growth in the region.
Dulloo was accompanied by senior officials, including Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce Vikramjeet Singh, MD JPDCL Mohd. Yasin Choudhary, Director of Industries and Commerce Jammu Arun Manhas, MD SIDCO/SICOP Inderjeet, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas, SSP Kathua Shobhit Saxena, ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh, and GM DIC, among others.
