COAS felicitates civilian staff for dedicated service and excellence

New Delhi, Oct 6: In a touching gesture of appreciation, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS),today felicitated three members of the civilian support staff at South Block in recognition of their long-standing service, commitment, and invaluable contribution to maintaining the dignity and vibrancy of the Army’s office spaces.

The event was held in the presence of all Army Commanders, where Shri Nand Kishore, associated with the organisation for nearly four decades, and Shri Ganesh Parihar and Shri Pinku Choudhary, who have each served for over 15 years, were honoured.

The felicitation highlighted the Indian Army’s tradition of valuing every contributor—uniformed or civilian—who upholds the ethos of discipline, precision, and pride in service. Officials said the gesture symbolised gratitude towards those “silent hands” whose daily efforts add grace, freshness, and warmth to the workplace.

By recognising these unsung contributors, the Army reaffirmed its belief that collective dedication, whether on the frontlines or behind the scenes, strengthens the institution’s spirit of service and excellence.
