Kathua, Dec 30: In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, a police team from Police Post Nagri, led by Inspector Ashish Sharma, apprehended a drug peddler in the Chak Drab Khan area of Kathua. The accused, identified as Juman Din, son of Paau and a resident of Khanwal Marheen, was found in possession of approximately 225 grams of a heroin-like substance, commonly referred to as “chitta.”
Following the arrest, a case was registered at Police Station Kathua under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The operation was carried out under the guidance of SHO Kathua, Ajay Chib, with supervision from DySP Headquarters Manjeet Singh and ASP Kathua Rahul Charak, JKPS, and overall supervision by SSP Kathua, Shobit Saxena, IPS.
The arrest marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts of Kathua Police to curb the menace of drug trafficking in the region. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a drug-free society and urged the public to assist in reporting suspicious activities.
