Jammu, January 17: A rescue operation conducted today in the Kachi Chawni and Parade areas of Jammu successfully rescued eight minors who were found involved in begging and child labour. The operation, part of the ongoing efforts by the Childline India Support Services (CISS), aimed to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
The rescued children have been provided immediate care and shelter at the Open Shelter for Boys in Trikuta Nagar. Authorities have assured that necessary rehabilitation and support services will be extended to help these children reintegrate into society and lead safer lives.
This drive reflects a strong commitment to eradicating child labour and street begging while ensuring the rights and safety of minors in the region. Further investigations are underway to identify and address the factors contributing to their exploitation.
