Kishtwar, Sep 21: The Indian Army on Sunday said its troops came under fire during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar, triggering an encounter.
In a post on X, the White Knight Corps stated, “Alert troops of #WhiteKnightCorps at around 1 pm today, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar, established contact with terrorists. Fire was exchanged with terrorists. Operation is in progress.”
Security sources confirmed that the operation is ongoing, with the area cordoned off and search operations continuing.
This is the second encounter in Jammu region in the past three days. On Friday, an exchange of fire broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Latti forest area of Udhampur, in which one Army jawan was martyred. That operation is still underway.
