GoC-in-C Northern Command Briefs LG Manoj Sinha on Successful Operation Mahadev

Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today and briefed him on the recently concluded Operation Mahadev. He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, GOC 15 Corps.

During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor extended his congratulations to the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for the success of the joint counter-terror operation. Operation Mahadev, carried out in the treacherous terrain of Dachigam forest, led to the elimination of three heavily armed Pakistani terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Lt Gen Sharma informed the Lieutenant Governor that search operations had been underway across parts of South Kashmir, particularly in the Dachigam forest region, for the past several months. Acting on credible and specific intelligence inputs, coordinated strike teams were deployed. The high-risk mission was launched jointly by the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF, with critical support from central intelligence agencies.

The operation marks a significant success in dismantling cross-border terror modules attempting to infiltrate and disrupt peace in the Valley.
