Jerusalem, June 26: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it dismantled a Hezbollah-linked structure in the Houla area of southern Lebanon during a special overnight operation on Wednesday, acting on precise intelligence.
According to the IDF, the facility was being used for Hezbollah’s military activities, including intelligence gathering operations targeting Israeli troops. The military described the actions within the site as a “clear violation” of long-standing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
The structure also served as the residence of Ahmad Ghazi Ali, a known Hezbollah operative who was eliminated by the IDF last week in the same area. Ali had reportedly been attempting to re-establish terrorist infrastructure on behalf of Hezbollah when he was targeted.
In a statement, the IDF said it remains committed to “eliminating any threat posed to the civilians of the State of Israel” and reaffirmed its intent to respond forcefully to any violation of its sovereignty.
