Tel Aviv, July 19: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday confirmed that it has eliminated Ahmad Muhammad Salah, the head of Hezbollah’s Yohmor outpost in southern Lebanon, in a targeted strike.
According to the IDF, Salah was actively involved in reestablishing Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in the Yohmor region — a strategic area used by the Iran-backed militant group for staging hostile activities against Israel.
“Ahmad Muhammad Salah was a key operative in Hezbollah’s efforts to rebuild terrorist capabilities near the border. His elimination is part of our ongoing operations to neutralize immediate threats,” an IDF spokesperson said.
The military emphasized that it will continue taking decisive action against Hezbollah and any entity that poses a danger to the security of the State of Israel.
Tensions have been high along the Israel-Lebanon border in recent months, with frequent exchanges of fire between the IDF and Hezbollah fighters. Saturday’s strike is seen as a continuation of Israel’s assertive countermeasures against the group’s growing presence near its northern frontier.
