Tel Aviv, Nov 5: In a coordinated operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) announced the elimination of Hamas terrorist Zaid Zaki Abd al-Hadi Aql, who was responsible for holding six Israeli hostages captive in Gaza.
According to an official joint statement, Aql was killed in an airstrike conducted on October 29, 2025, targeting key Hamas operatives following the militant group’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement last week.
Aql played a central role in the abduction and captivity of Bar Kuperstein, Ohad Ben Ami, Maxim Herkin, Elkana Bohbot, Segev Kalfon, and Yosef-Haim Ohana, all of whom were taken into the Gaza Strip during the October 7th massacre carried out by Hamas.
The IDF termed the operation “a significant counter-terror achievement,” reiterating its resolve to pursue every individual involved in the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilians.
“The IDF and ISA will continue to act against Hamas terrorists responsible for the brutal acts of October 7 and the ongoing attacks against Israel,” the statement added
