India, US intensify talks to conclude bilateral trade agreement

New Delhi, Sept 16: A high-level team from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), led by Chief Negotiator Brendan Lynch, visited India on Tuesday to hold discussions on advancing the proposed India–US Bilateral Trade Agreement.

The delegation held talks with Indian officials from the Department of Commerce, led by the Special Secretary, focusing on strengthening trade ties and addressing key issues related to the agreement.

In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce said the deliberations were “positive and forward-looking,” acknowledging the enduring importance of trade between the two countries. Both sides agreed to intensify efforts for the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial pact.

The proposed deal, once finalized, is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment flows, opening new opportunities for businesses in both nations while further cementing the strategic partnership between India and the US.
