SRINAGAR, Jan 26: On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day celebrations at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary reaffirmed Jammu and Kashmir’s central role in India’s identity, calling it the “crown and soul of India.” Choudhary’s statement emphasized the region’s unmatched beauty, culture, and history, making it a renowned destination worldwide.

During his speech, Choudhary vowed to ensure continued peace, prosperity, and development for Jammu and Kashmir. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to serving the people of the region, stressing the importance of justice, which will play a crucial role in the ongoing transformation.

  1. Restoration of Statehood
    Choudhary acknowledged the challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly since the region’s reorganization into a Union Territory in 2019. He expressed a strong desire for the restoration of statehood, an issue he urged the central government to address.
