Jammu, Jan 2: In a shocking incident, Kanav Sharma, a lawyer and son of senior BJP leader Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, was injured in a shooting incident in Jammu’s Ambphalla area on Tuesday evening. The attack, which reportedly stemmed from a heated argument over a parking issue, has raised serious concerns about public safety in the city.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began when Kanav Sharma and the accused engaged in a dispute over parking arrangements near a busy spot in Ambphalla. As the argument escalated, the accused, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, pulled out a firearm and fired two shots at Kanav. Both bullets struck him, leaving him injured.
Panicked bystanders quickly rushed Kanav to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have stated that his condition is stable, but he remains under observation.
The assailant fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Police teams, led by senior officials, have cordoned off the area and launched an intensive search operation to track down the attacker. Security has also been heightened in Ambphalla and adjoining areas to prevent further incidents.
Speaking to the media, senior BJP leader Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma expressed shock over the attack on his son. He demanded a swift and thorough investigation into the incident, calling for stronger measures to ensure public safety in Jammu.
The incident has sparked outrage among local residents and political leaders, who have condemned the attack and urged authorities to bring the perpetrator to justice.
