Jammu, Jun 26: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police has filed five charge sheets against nine individuals involved in separate cases of fraud, including fake promises of college admissions, foreign jobs, and work visas, an official spokesperson said on Thursday.
Among those charge-sheeted:

Alok Kumar (Himachal Pradesh) and Maneer Ahmad Bhat (Doda) for allegedly duping a doctor from Surankote of Rs 12 lakh by promising MBBS seats for his daughters.

Rakesh Sareen, a Delhi-based businessman, for cheating a Jammu resident of Rs 9.42 lakh over supply of machinery for a business unit.

Shafiq Ahmed Lone, Mohammed Inam-Ul-Haq, and Firoz Khan for defrauding Satpal Sharma of Rs 6.50 lakh on the promise of securing a job abroad for his son.

Pawan Kumar and Naresh Kumar (Chandigarh) for taking Rs 6.41 lakh from two Jammu residents by falsely offering jobs in a private security firm.

Varinder Kumar (Punjab) for allegedly taking Rs 1 lakh from a Rajouri resident for a fake work visa.
The cases were registered between 2019 and 2023 and have now been submitted to courts for judicial proceedings, the Crime Branch stated.
