J&K Health Dept Transfers 49 Doctors Across UT to Improve Patient Services

SRINAGAR, June 29: In a major administrative move to enhance patient care and hospital management, the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s Health and Medical Education Department has transferred and posted 49 doctors across various districts. The orders, issued on June 28 under Government Order Nos. 428-JK(HME) and 429-JK(HME) of 2025, take effect immediately.

Under these orders, Dr. Narinder Singh Bhatali, awaiting adjustment, has been appointed In-Charge Deputy Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, while also holding additional charge as Medical Superintendent. Dr. Balwinder Singh has been posted as I/C Block Medical Officer (BMO) R.S. Pura.

Other key postings include Dr. Mohd Ajaz as I/C BMO Mahore; Dr. Versha Sharma as I/C BMO Bhaderwah; Dr. Abdul Qayoom as I/C BMO Parole; and Dr. Vivek Mangotra as I/C BMO Purmandal. Meanwhile, Dr. Monika Kotwal will take charge as I/C District Malaria Officer Samba.

In Kashmir division, Dr. Nighat Yasmeen Sheikh has been appointed I/C Deputy Director Health Services (HQ), Kashmir, and Dr. Saba Wani as I/C Deputy Director Health Services, Kashmir. Dr. Farah Shafi has been posted as Superintendent, Medical Ganderbal, and Dr. Syed Masood as Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kulgam.

Additional postings include Dr. Adil Hussain Kango at Bone & Joint Hospital, Barzulla; Dr. Asif Ali Khanday at District Hospital Bandipora; and several doctors deputed to NHM, JKMSCL, and the AIDS Control Society to strengthen program delivery.

Officials said the reshuffle aims to address gaps in staffing, optimise healthcare delivery and improve management at key institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
