Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, during the Republic Day celebrations in Jammu on Sunday, lauded the strides made by Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, asserting that good governance is the foundation of peace, development, and inclusivity in the Union Territory.
Assembly Elections a Milestone in Democracy
Highlighting the successful Assembly elections held in September-October last year, Sinha credited the people of J&K for their active participation in the democratic process. He said, “This achievement underscores the citizens’ faith in democratic values and their vision for a better future.”
Focus on Peace, Harmony, and Youth Aspirations
Sinha urged collective efforts to maintain peace and harmony, emphasizing the importance of shielding youth aspirations from divisive forces. “The people now look to the government with renewed expectations for meaningful employment, sustainable development, and social inclusivity,” he said.
Three-Tier Governance and Local Body Elections
To further strengthen participatory governance, Sinha announced upcoming local body elections to establish a robust three-tier system, ensuring broader citizen involvement in decision-making processes.
