LG Administration Dismisses Two More Govt Employees for Lashkar Links in Kupwara

JAMMU, Aug 23: The Jammu and Kashmir administration under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday terminated two more government employees for their proven links with the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, in a fresh action against terror sympathisers embedded in state institutions.

Acting under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, the government dismissed Khurshid Ahmed Rather, a teacher from Karnah, and Siyad Ahmad Khan, an Assistant Stockman in the Sheep Husbandry Department posted in Keran, Kupwara.

Officials said the action followed a detailed investigation by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, which unearthed concrete evidence of the duo’s involvement in supporting LeT activities. “Both employees were found to be working at the behest of Lashkar operatives. Their continued presence in government service posed a serious threat to national security,” a senior official confirmed.

The LG administration has repeatedly stressed a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism and its ecosystem. Over the past few years, several government employees with links to militant outfits and separatist networks have been shown the door.

Today’s action reinforces the message that those aligned with terror groups will find no place in the governance structure of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials hinted that more terminations are likely as ongoing investigations tighten the net around those aiding militancy from within the system.
