Leh, Oct 4: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the prevailing security situation in the Union Territory.
Senior officials from the UT Administration, Ladakh Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the current security scenario and operational preparedness across the region.
Emphasising the importance of vigilance, the Lt Governor said the administration remains fully committed to maintaining peace, safety, and stability in Ladakh. “Vigilance and preparedness remain key to addressing any emerging challenges,” he said.
The meeting also deliberated on the roadmap for phased relaxation of restrictions, with the Lt Governor asserting that any decision in this regard would be taken cautiously—balancing public safety with the gradual resumption of socio-economic activities.
Commending the people of Ladakh for their restraint, cooperation, and resilience, Shri Gupta said, “The cooperation of the people is instrumental in restoring normalcy in the region.” He also underlined the need for continued coordination among security agencies to ensure lasting peace and harmony.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the UT Administration, heads of security agencies, and representatives from the Army and Central Armed Police Forces.
