LG Manoj Sinha: J&K Police Ensuring Peace, Stability and Driving Socio-Economic Progress

SRINAGAR, October 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its multidimensional role in the Union Territory, saying the force is not only maintaining law and order and fighting terrorism but also acting as a key driver of socio-economic development.

Addressing the 10th All India Police Judo Cluster (Men & Women) – 2025, the Lieutenant Governor said that peace and stability ensured by J&K Police have paved the way for industrial growth and holistic progress across the region.

“Terrorism is breathing its last in J&K. Peace has enabled unprecedented progress and brought greater prosperity into people’s lives,” LG Sinha said. He added that the improved security situation has helped dismantle left-wing extremism and enabled India to enter a new era of development driven by rapid economic growth.

Commending the efforts of the police, army, and central armed forces, the LG said they have successfully dismantled terror networks, disrupted cross-border infiltration, and strengthened internal security. He emphasized the importance of intelligence-based kinetic operations and a comprehensive approach to address evolving security challenges.

Sinha praised the J&K Police for creating a fear-free environment where citizens can live and work peacefully. “The force has stood as a pillar of courage, ensuring that progress continues unhindered,” he said.

Highlighting the unifying power of sports, the LG said that it promotes team spirit, equality, and mutual respect, while fostering camaraderie and nation-building values among the youth.

“Sports is the universal language of unity. Events like the All India Police Judo Cluster embody the spirit of Unity in Diversity and celebrate India’s rich cultural and social heritage,” he remarked.

Hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the championship features over 2,000 athletes competing in Judo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and Karate.

The event was attended by DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, senior civil and police officers, sports personalities, and a large number of youth and spectators.
