Minister Reviews Implementation of Dharti Aaba Scheme, Calls for Holistic Tribal Development

JAMMU, Jan 16: Minister for Tribal Affairs Department Javed Ahmed Rana chaired a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu on Tuesday to review the implementation of the Dharti Aaba Scheme across Jammu and Kashmir. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to holistic tribal development, he called for the expanded coverage of the scheme to all tribal villages and stressed bridging critical gaps in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihoods for sustainable growth.

“The holistic development of tribal communities is a top priority for the government. The Dharti Aaba Scheme must reach every tribal village, ensuring access to essential facilities and empowering communities,” the minister said.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Tribal Affairs Department (TAD) Harun Malik, Deputy Secretary Dr. Abdul Khabir, and other senior officials.

During discussions, the minister stressed a coordinated and focused approach to maximize the scheme’s benefits for tribal populations. He reviewed ongoing interventions under the scheme and explored strategies to overcome challenges in its execution.

Secretary Harun Malik briefed the gathering on various welfare initiatives aimed at socioeconomic empowerment and sustainable development for tribal communities. He highlighted ongoing efforts to extend the Dharti Aaba Scheme to every tribal village, underscoring its focus on improving living conditions, advancing education, and fostering inclusive growth.

The minister reiterated the government’s dedication to the welfare of tribal populations and urged officials to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the scheme. “Through targeted efforts and coordinated action, we can bring meaningful change to the lives of tribal communities,” he said.
