Poonch, December 31: In a landmark development to bolster road connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, the Mughal Road stretch from Bufliaz to Pir Ki Gali has been officially handed over to the Border Roads Organization (BRO) by the Public Works Department (PWD). This critical transition was orchestrated under the leadership of District Development Commissioner Vikas Kundal and was completed with all necessary formalities.
Deputy Commissioner Kundal affirmed the handover, stressing the strategic and civilian importance of maintaining the road, particularly during harsh winter months. He urged the BRO to focus on enhancing infrastructure support to ensure seamless access for both civilian traffic and security forces navigating the challenging terrain.
“The BRO possesses the workforce, resources, and technical expertise required to operate effectively in extreme weather and difficult conditions,” the Deputy Commissioner stated, emphasizing the organization’s suitability for managing this crucial roadway.
This collaboration aims to keep the Mughal Road operational throughout the winter season, ensuring safety and accessibility while serving as a lifeline for the local community.
