Srinagar, Mar 17: Security forces on Monday gunned down a Pakistani terrorist in an encounter in the Rajwar area of Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The terrorist, identified as Saifullah, was killed following a cordon and search operation launched by security personnel based on specific intelligence inputs.
Addressing the media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Mushtaq Choudhary, confirmed the operation’s success.
“During the gunfight, the terrorist was neutralized. His body has been recovered, along with an AK-47 rifle, grenades, and other ammunition,” SSP Choudhary said.
Security forces continue to maintain a tight vigil in the region, with counterterrorism operations being intensified to prevent any infiltration attempts or militant activity.
