Patriotic Fervor and Unity Mark 76th Republic Day Celebrations Across Jammu Division

JAMMU, JANUARY 26: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and festivity across the Jammu Division, drawing enthusiastic participation from citizens of all ages, including students, women, and children, reflecting the region’s deep national spirit.

At Doda: The Sports Stadium in Doda witnessed grand celebrations led by District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, who unfurled the tricolor and inspected a ceremonial parade comprising contingents from the IRP 5th Battalion, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, JKP, SSB, NCC cadets, and students.

The event highlighted the district’s progress under various initiatives, with the DDC Chairman crediting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for a renewed era of development in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured residents about the upcoming state-of-the-art facilities at the Government Medical College in Doda and highlighted key projects, including multi-storey parking complexes, ropeway projects, and power infrastructure upgrades.

Cultural performances showcasing Dogri, Bhaderwahi, Serazi, Gojri, and Kashmiri traditions added vibrancy to the event. The celebration extended to Bhaderwah, Thathri, and other tehsils with equal enthusiasm.

At Ramban: The District Police Lines hosted the celebrations, where DDC Chairperson Dr. Shamshad Shan hoisted the tricolor and took the ceremonial salute. The Chairperson commended the district’s infrastructure upgrades, including the completion of NH-44 tunnels, viaducts, and the Katra-Banihal rail section under USBRL. She also lauded achievements in sanitation, housing, and health under flagship schemes like Swachh Bharat Mission and PMAY.

Vibrant cultural performances and exhibitions by various departments showcasing government schemes enriched the event, which extended to Gool, Banihal, and other subdivisions. 

At Rajouri: The DPL grounds in Rajouri became the center of vibrant celebrations, with DDC Chairperson Advocate Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat unfurling the national flag. The grand parade featured contingents from JKAP, CRPF, JK Police Band, and schools, while tableaux showcased government initiatives.

Students captivated the audience with cultural performances highlighting India’s diversity. The Chairperson emphasized collaborative efforts in the district’s development and honored outstanding individuals for their contributions.

At Reasi: General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium was abuzz with energy as DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag presided over the celebrations, inspecting an impressive parade and acknowledging cultural performances. He praised the district’s progress under developmental schemes and congratulated participants for their spirited contributions to the event. 

At Kishtwar: The historic Chowgan Ground hosted the main event, led by DDC Chairperson Pooja Thakur, who took the salute at a parade featuring contingents from JK Police, IRP, CRPF, and NCC cadets. Highlights included achievements in tourism, education, and infrastructure, particularly in remote areas like Dachhan and Marwah.

Chairperson Thakur also celebrated Kishtwar’s impressive 80.20% voter turnout in the recent elections, emphasizing democratic values. Cultural performances and achievements in road, housing, and power projects further underscored the district’s growth.

At Samba: The Rani Suchet Singh Stadium hosted vibrant celebrations led by DDC Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma. Parade contingents and cultural performances reflecting India’s heritage were the highlights. The Chairman emphasized the importance of Republic Day and praised local administration for the event’s success.

At Poonch: The Sports Stadium in Poonch saw DDC Chairperson Tazim Akhter unfurl the national flag. She highlighted key achievements, including highway and tunnel projects, housing under PMAY, and tribal community development through ABHA Jan Jatiya Abhiyan.

The event concluded with cultural performances and awards, celebrating the district’s unity and progress.

Across the division, the celebrations echoed a shared commitment to India’s constitutional values and a collective vision for development. The spirit of patriotism resonated in every corner, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all participants.
