New Delhi, Jul 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in London on Wednesday for a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom, marking the first leg of his two-nation tour that also includes the Maldives.
The Prime Minister received a rousing reception from members of the Indian community upon his arrival in the British capital. Crowds gathered to greet him with chants and cheers, waving Indian flags and expressing their support.
Expressing his gratitude, PM Modi shared a message on social media platform X: “Touched by the warm welcome from the Indian community in the UK. Their affection and passion towards India’s progress is truly heartening.”
The visit is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation, including the formal signing of the long-awaited India–UK Free Trade Agreement, and meetings with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and King Charles III.
