Jammu, January 5, 2024: In a concerted effort to curb the drug menace, police teams from Post Pounichak and BPP Sandwan, under the supervision of SHO PS Domana, conducted surprise checks at suspected drug hotspots in the Pouni Chak area today.
The operation targeted multiple locations, including Tawi Bed, Gujjar Basti SOS, and Camp Gole Gujral in Bhagwati Nagar. Searches were carried out in several kullas within the SOS area, and individuals present were questioned about their activities.
Two individuals, identified as Ashish Kumar and Goutam, both residents of Dalougra in Rajouri district, were taken into custody. They have been booked under sections 126/170(2) of the BNSS Act and are being held at PP Pounichak for further investigation.
The swift and decisive action by the police has drawn appreciation from the local community, who expressed hope that such proactive measures will help combat the growing drug issue in the region.
