Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Visits Premier Training Institutes of Indian Army in Mhow

MHOW, December 30: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, concluded a two-day official visit to the premier training institutes of the Indian Army in Mhow. The visit, from December 29 to 30, included engagements at the Army War College (AWC), Infantry School, and Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), showcasing the Indian Army’s efforts in shaping future military leadership and advancing defense capabilities.

Upon arrival at Indore Airport on December 29, the Raksha Mantri was received by the Station Commander, Mhow. He began his visit by paying homage at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Memorial, the birthplace of the architect of the Indian Constitution, where he offered floral tributes.

On December 30, Shri Rajnath Singh visited the Army War College and was briefed by Lieutenant General H.S. Sahi, Commandant of the institution. The briefing highlighted the Army War College’s pivotal role in preparing military leaders for multi-domain operations, integrating technology into training, and fostering collaborations with academia, industries, and global institutions. The contribution of the College to military diplomacy through the training of officers from Friendly Foreign Countries was also emphasized.

At the Infantry War Memorial, the Raksha Mantri paid floral tributes to fallen soldiers, saluting their courage and supreme sacrifice. Addressing the officers of the Mhow Garrison, he praised the relentless dedication of the Indian Army in safeguarding the nation’s borders and emphasized the importance of jointness, technological innovation, and Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) in preparing the Armed Forces for future challenges.

During his visit to MCTE, Shri Rajnath Singh was briefed on the establishment of the Advanced Incubation and Research Centre and the institution’s collaborative initiatives through various Memorandums of Understanding. He also toured the Infantry Museum, which showcases the evolution and history of the Infantry, and visited the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), where he was apprised of its contributions to national sports and the induction of modern equipment.

The Raksha Mantri lauded the efforts of the premier training institutions in Mhow for their role in advancing professional excellence in military strategy and warfare. He urged the Armed Forces to remain vigilant amidst evolving geopolitical challenges and reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a self-reliant and developed nation by 2047, with the Armed Forces playing a pivotal role in achieving this vision.

The visit underscored the Union government’s steadfast support for the Armed Forces and their initiatives to enhance India’s defense preparedness, fostering excellence in training and leadership across the ranks.
