JAMMU, Apr 20: Security forces on Sunday launched a massive search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district following reports of suspicious movement near a forested area, officials said.
The operation was triggered after a local priest spotted three unidentified individuals carrying backpacks and moving towards the Rasana forest area around 3:30 am. He immediately alerted the police, prompting a swift response.
A joint team comprising the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police, Army, and CRPF quickly cordoned off the area and began combing operations to trace the suspects.
As of the latest reports, there has been no trace of the suspected individuals, and the search operation is ongoing deep inside the forest.
