Search Operation Launched in Rajouri After Suspicious Movement Reported

Jammu, Mar 17: Security forces launched a search operation on Monday after an ex-serviceman reported spotting two suspicious individuals in a forested area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said.

The retired soldier, while collecting fodder for his goats near Gandeh village in the Sunderbani sector, noticed two persons dressed in black moving towards a hilltop, prompting him to alert authorities, they said.

Acting on the information, a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) initiated a cordon-and-search operation. Army personnel later joined the operation to intensify the combing efforts.

The search was underway in the dense forest when last reports were received, but no trace of the suspects had been found so far, officials said.
