Seven Tourist Spots Reopened in Kashmir Months After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Srinagar, Sep 29: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday reopened seven tourist spots in the valley that had been closed since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The decision followed directions from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha after a Unified Headquarters meeting. “After a thorough security review and discussion in today’s UHQ meeting, I’ve ordered reopening of more tourist spots in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, which were temporarily closed as precautionary measures,” the LG said on X.

Nearly 50 tourist destinations were closed after the Pahalgam attack, in which heavily armed terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists.

In Kashmir, the reopened spots include Aru Valley, Rafting Point Yanner, Akkad Park, Padshahi Park, and Kaman Post. In Jammu, reopened locations include Dagan Top (Ramban), Dhaggar (Kathua), and Shiv Cave (Salal, Reasi). Earlier in June, 16 tourist spots, including parts of Pahalgam, had been reopened.
