Srinagar, Mar 3: In a major action against terror funding, police in Shopian on Monday attached the residential house of a terror associate under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The double-storey house belonging to Ilyas Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wandina Melhoura, was attached under Section 25 of UAPA, 1967.
The property, registered under Khasra No. 115, has been valued at Rs. 24.09 lakh. Police confirmed that the attachment was formally recorded in revenue records, with legal notices issued prohibiting its sale or transfer.
“This action is linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora. It was executed in the presence of a police team and an Executive Magistrate, ensuring full legal compliance,” police said.
The police termed the move a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on terrorism and reaffirmed their commitment to neutralizing security threats in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Shopian Police, in close coordination with other agencies, will continue taking stringent action against individuals and entities that pose a threat to national security,” the statement added.
